1. Vaccine Questions...What Can You Ask?

2. Should You Reinstate Your Attendance Policy?

As workplaces start to regain normalcy, employers are wondering if an attendance policy fits with their new model. It is important to remember if you do decide to reimplement your attendance policy, you must follow the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). These attendance policies could make individuals who feel sick come into work anyway, causing a spread of COVID or any other sickness. Read the full SHRM article here!

3. CDC Updates Domestic Travel Guidelines

The CDC has issued guidelines for those wanting to travel domestically. They proposed that individuals postpone travel until they are fully vaccinated, however, if travel is necessary, take precautions to reduce the spread by wearing masks and socially distancing. Even if you are fully vaccinated, the CDC still says you need to wear a mask on public transportation (planes, busses, trains, etc.) to reduce the possibility of the virus spreading. 4. Jobless Claims Continue To Fall

"States reported that 444,000 workers filed for new unemployment benefits during the week ending May 15, a decrease of 34,000 from the previous week's revised level and the lowest level of initial claims since Mar. 2020." - SHRM. Even with these numbers decreasing, companies are still reporting labor supply shortages. Find out what States are starting to do to react to this issue in this SHRM article.

5. Restaurants Struggling To Find Employees

According to this HR Drive article, retention is the key for restaurants to keep hold of their employees. Some ways employers have been able to do this is by creating a positive company culture, boosting benefits, and offering clear paths for career growth. With the restaurant industry struggling, it is important to remember these tips to keep your employees happy and excited to stay at your company!

6. Everything You Need To Know About The EBSA Guidance

Our friends at Birch Benefits wrote a blog about the new changes the Employee Benefits Security Administration of the Department of Labor issued on the new Cybersecurity Guidance. The EBSA has released three cybersecurity tip sheets that discuss cybersecurity program best practices, recommendations for hiring a service provider, and online security guidelines.
